How to Play Verdiales (7 Strumming/Rasgueo Exercises)

Verdiales is a flamenco palo that comes from the Andalusian region of Málaga—more particularly Almogía. In its purest form, emanating from the historically rural life the region, it may almost sound like some sort of fast-tempo Russian folk song. Over time, Verdiales has come to be referred to as “Fandangos de Málaga,” and is often times sung and/or played at the end of a Malagueña. I hope you enjoy these exercises based on the Verdiales!
